MARÍA DOLORES DURÁN GARCÍA
I have a PhD in Thermal and Fluid Mechanics Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain, earning her distinction as a cum laude graduate. My Master's degree is in Renewable Energy Techniques from the International University of Andalusia, Spain. My Bachelor's degree is in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at UAEMex, Mexico.
My work experience includes serving as Academic Director and Principal of the Faculty of Engineering at the University from 2017 to 2021, and from 2013 to 2017, respectively. Additionally, I have been a professor and researcher at the University since 2004.
I have led 11 research projects, producing more than 90 publications in national and international journals and conference proceedings, as well as 10 book chapters, and supervised 15 theses.
My research topics include renewable energies, particularly solar energy and solid biofuels, thermoeconomics, thermal systems design and analysis, and Life Cycle Assessment.
I have participated as a professional in the National Council of Humanities, Sciences, and Technologies (CONAHCYT), the National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CENEVAL), as well as in higher education institutions and private companies, including Mercedes-Benz. Additionally, I had the opportunity to participate in a sabbatical as a researcher at the City College of New York in the United States of America.
I have an H13 index in Google Scholar, which reflects outstanding quality and relevance in scientific production. Additionally, I have received a Laudatory Note for achieving significant academic productivity and the Clausula 90 for innovation in the classroom at the UAEMex. I have also received an Honorary Doctorate from the Center for Advanced Studies of the Americas for being one of the first women to lead an engineering school in the country.
I am currently the President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in Mexico.
